V Video Blackout

GDPR video compliance software

GDPR video compliance software is what DPOs look for when recordings are personal data — which CCTV of identifiable people almost always is. Video Blackout does not run in EU cloud regions because it does not take the file off the controller’s PC. That is the control to write into a DPIA: processing is on-premise, export is a new file, originals stay in the organisation’s VMS.

DSAR video redaction

Article 15 access is not “send the whole corridor.” Other data subjects remain in the same pixels. DSAR video redaction is the practical reply: keep the requester where policy allows, mask everyone else with face redaction, and strip PII that would identify third parties (badges, visible documents, number plates on this workflow).

Controller checklist (video)

  • Name the lawful basis for the original recording (not our problem to invent).
  • Document that redaction happens in your environment — offline video redaction.
  • Release a derivative; do not give admin access to the NVR as “access.”

U.S. public records are a different statute: FOIA video redaction. Facilities exports: CCTV redaction tool.

FAQ

What is DSAR video redaction?
A data subject access request can include CCTV or meeting recordings. You must provide the requester’s data without handing them everyone else in frame. That edit is DSAR video redaction.
Does Video Blackout certify GDPR for us?
No vendor stamp replaces your DPIA. We provide local processing and irreversible export so your technical measures are easier to describe.
